Halle Berry was a welcome surprise on the 2025 given that the actress hasn’t been seen at the event in almost a decade. She rocked the red carpet in a custom LaQuan Smith gown that featured a plunging neckline and paired it with a cropped blazer and a veiled headpiece. But after the night’s festivities, the Oscar-winning actress stopped by a Raising Cane’s for a late-night snack.

In a collaborative post with the brand, Berry was pictured sprawled out across the checkout counter with her legs crossed, taking a bite out of a chicken tender in the outfit she wore to the Met Gala. The caption on the photo reads, “When two icons MET.”

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrates Black fashion and specifically Black menswear designers. The inspiration for the year’s theme came from Monica Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

The food during the event was served by famed chef Kwame Onwuachi, a Time100 honoree and the owner of the New York Times‘ No. 1 restaurant in the city, Tatiana. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion gave viewers an inside look at the night’s menu and did a taste test of one of the passed apps, cornbread topped with caviar. Fine dining food, while delicious, is usually small portions so we can see why Berry might have wanted to grab something else before heading home.
